Quality of life (QoL) research shows that people with psoriasis have almost the same reduction in QoL as people with diseases such as cancer, diabetes or depression. Psoriasis can even lead some patients to consider suicide as the only alternative they have Psoriasis is not a cosmetic condition it is a debilitating disease that deserves attention Better diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis is needed now to alleviate the suffering of many millions of people around the world who are not getting the help they need The World Health Organization must take urgent action to help sufferers by recognising psoriasis as a serious disease Current psoriasis research is focused on genetics and the immune system, research should actively be developed in those two fields |
