What monitoring do I need? It is vital that you receive comprehensive and careful monitoring whilst taking Cyclo. These tests are there to protect you and should indicate a problem before it actually becomes one. Baseline Monitoring:
Follow-up Monitoring: BP, FBC, U&E, Creatinine levels weekly for first month and then every eight weeks whilst treatment continues. As Cyclo is a relatively expensive therapy compared to MTX, doctors only prescribe it to those patients who are unable to take MTX or who have had poor results with it i.e. they prefer to offer MTX in the first instance.
