Blogs/ dairy
« on: July 17, 2008, 03:47:05 PM »
I was wondering about having our own blogs or diary on here
as a different thread so then we have some where to write about how we are feeling
and other stuff that goes on in our lives instead of making separate topics.
A proper to place rant and rave!!

Just a thought

Hi

I have setup a simple Blog feature. You should see a new item on the top menu named "blog". Click on this to access the Blogs Section. To start your own blog you need to enable it from within your profile..

There is a new entry within your profile named "Blog Control Panel" from there you can use the Click here to initialize it link to setup your blog..

Once you have initialized your blog you can then start adding entries..

This is just a test at the moment, we will see how well it works before we decide if we keep it..

Thanks
TSD

Hi guys,

It there a way of not allowing comments in the blog so it is more like a diary.

I am thinking of logging my treatment over time - just like a treatment and response diary.

Cheers

Why would you not want comments?  I like them.  If you don't wish comments then I think you can just delete them, people will soon get the message if the next time they visit there is nothing to read apart from your blog  :-\

Personally, I think its quite nice to have some support whilst you are monitoring your treatment.  People who have something to offer will pop in regularly to see how you are doing and if your blog doesn't interest them then they will soon stop logging into it.

Hi Hove

I understand where you are coming from. If you edit the settings in your Blog from within your profile you can untick the box next to the "Display comments to topics on the main blog page" entry and then comments can still be left but willnot be visible on the main blog pages.

I think this gives you what you need..

Cheers

Thanks TSD - I will give it a try.

Luvvi - I understand what you are saying but I would like to use the blog in a differnt way to you. its just I want a record of what I am currently doing, sun diet treatment etc.

The main board is fine if I am asking something but with the weblog I want to keep a record of what treatments I am using and what degree of p I have, perhaps a bit clinical but maybe thats me   :-\ !??!

I think it may work over time....

No each to their own and it looks like Michael has the perfect solution to suit all of us.  I would just have hated to have the option for comments taken away for the rest of us who wish to use the blog as a record of treatment and to have the support of our friends on the boards, it also allows other other PHO'ers to ask questions about our regimes and glean more information to make informed judgements on their own clinical care.
