exalt/smite

can we have a function where u can praise people for there posts or smite them? ive seen it on identical forums and you get to hand out one karma thing per hour. So if you post a c**p joke or something then you get punished. so u can have good or negative karma.

what does everyone else think? i think it might be fun

could be a lot of fun and there's been times when i've wanted to praise some post and did not feel words were enough....

However I dont think it should be applied to Chichat as this could be abused and create tension...

Quite agree Marie....

There is a capability for tension and abuse without scoring it  ;)
I think WW3 would break out  :(

i dont think that anyone would be annoyed or care too much if someone gave them bad rating or watever it would be. i think it should be used everywhere cus the whole point is for a bit of fun. not ratings that are taken seriously.

Eamonn.....sadly some peeps on here are good at dishing it out , but incapable of taking it in return.....

I think until everyone can learn to laugh at themselves and stop being highly critical , or indeed bringing personalities into their posts,a "scoring" idea would be inflammatory.
I think it is a good idea tho'
We Scots learned to laugh at ourselves a long time ago....

I mean ....look at our football and rugby teams  ::)

yeh but its not like a rating. Ive seen it before where u get one point an hour, and u can choose to give away that point to someone postively or negatively. IT not like a rating where u get judged on everything u say.

but i do get your point. its just an idea. i wudnt want to cause arguements here.

Hmmm, as Stu said I think many people would be mortified if they got a negative mark here...and trouble would come a-knocking ::)

I am afraid only Michael knows the capabilities of this forum and its host and whether such a thing could be added (which it may not be able to).

All sounds very complicated to me, but then again I can't even turn a PS on or use my mobile phone, let alone figure out out usch a system!

Would it not be possible to exalte a post if we thought it was good and leave the smiting out altogether :-/
