if this is possible
« on: April 08, 2011, 11:36:18 AM »
alot of members have alot of experience on meds and alt treatments

wondering if there is a way of putting on forum which med/alt a member is on or using. if they so wish that is

so its highlighted n easy to see

thinking it might help, for example im up for humira, now being a old member i can use my memory of who is on it whereas a newbie wouldnt be able to do this

also being that ive been on mtx before i have ton of experince knowledge on that med, other members also have the same level of experience with meds/ alts which might be of benefit to others who can automatically see that we have been on it

possible ? possibly ? idea ?

Its always helpful to get advice from peeps who have tried and tested various lotions/potions/pills, etc.  Pieman has done a fab report on humira, likewise Nick on VitaminD combined with PUVA; lots available on MTX as its the cheaper DMARD and seems most tried and tested .. recording on a weekly basis experiences on new treatments is invaluable to those of us on early stage treatments ... so appreciate the efforts so far and, while I do a search regularly for what I need, I know not everyone realises that facility is there.  Oftentimes they just ask the question and some well-meaning peeps sends a link.

You've got some good ideas Daz  ;)

I used to look at a support forum for people with ICD's (implanted cardioverter defibrilator) as my mum had one.

A lot of people on there used to list their meds in their signature so you could see what they were on.   :)

Good idea and could be helpful to others if they want to contact you or just see who is on what med  :)

I've put my 'status' in my signature line as Jackie suggests  ;)

BB makes a good point about the search facility ~ I wonder if it is under used  :-\

I struggled with the search function for years till I realised the other month the magnifying glass (that I thought was a torch  :-[ ) helped you to define the search more.

It is a very usefull tool!  8)

Good idea Darren, and adding into signature is a good idea!!

i was thinking something a little bolder so can be seen easier like a badge or something on our profiles or can be seen clearly on posts

like the donate button is when a mod posts for example

I think it's a good idea to use the signature space to have some kind of info
regarding current treatment/past etc...but would need to be uniformly used
as it would start to look stupid ;D ....non compulsory of course...

I don't believe that there is an inbuilt function readymade to facilitate any other way...
(Michael or mods can correct me if i'm wrong  ::)  ;) )

however to embed "neat" button type info the signature is possible
although you are limited to 200 characters: (unless this could be extended? ??? )

ie: the code for this button:

is nearly 50 characters...so only 4 buttons would fit in the space.

maybe some thing like this..combo of text and buttons ( again limited to 200chars):

Current - in remission using: previous:

what's the general consensus?
pie ;)
