Is it a lot quieter here than it used to be?

I used to lurk here a few years ago under a different name and it always seemed really busy, there doesn't seem to be that much activity any more. Is this true or do I have rose tinted specs on?

If you look at the stats, on the board index, you can track the volume of activity on the boards.

New posts and topics have declined since the board was setup but I think a lot of that relates to less activity on the Chit Chat board. I can't break the stats down board by board but I think the Psoriasis boards are roughly the same as they have always been. They generally have a few posts per day each with the activity on the Chit Chat board making up the volume of posts.

It is also probably true that as the amount of information on the boards has increased that the board is being used for reference purposes rather than active posting. Difficult to confirm either way but the page views would suggest that the number of people viewing the boards is steady and fluctuates between 800,000 and 1,000,000 per month with an average of 884,887 per month since Jan 2008. November 2010 had 917,149 page views.

The number of new members per month averages at 244 from Jan 08 to date with November 10 being 274. This again seems fairly flat/stable with the number of members online per day fluctuating between 150 and 200 with an average of 176 per day.

Sorry, a rather a detailed answer to your question. New Topics and Posts have definitely reduced over the months/years but activity on the boards e.g. page views, members online, new members seems to be at "normal" levels although there will always be fluctuations month on month.

I would be interested in yours or anyone else’s views? Do you think that the board is losing relevance to the members? I am not really interested in the decline in the posts on the chit chat board as the main purposes of the site is the Psoriasis boards, are they still relevant and helpful? Could we be doing something differently?

I personally love it here and couldnt think of my life with P without finding pho. It might be the case where so many subjects apart from individuals experiences might be coverered somewhere via search? (as you said people using as reference)
I hope for many more people like myself who felt so alone can find pho and post about themselves and long will pho live!!!

that is certainly very true, the boards are being used as a reference, certainly from the feedback of members im associated with

i have mentioned before, so will again that i belive it would be more benificial to have certain threads that are very relevant to be stickied
it has been done on the pa board, which i belive would be better done on the other boards too, certain info on the mainstream of discussions/treatments would be better highlighted
the arguement which was presented to me before, of just using the search facilty doesnt help as it does bring up various threads which you then have to trawl through, which is time consuming ( not everyone has the time )

certainly alot of the threads are very helpful and relevant

plus on another note of feedback, as we have picture gallery etc is there any plans to possible have a video link page section ?

i also maintain it would be better to have the front page of pho, linked better to this part of pho, as the info on there is still very relevant ( i use it very often research ) again feedback i have is most forgot its there

but ya know my ideas    of possible improvements, i also appreciate not all of them are practical or needed, with time consumption being the main prob
