monitoring own posts
« on: June 23, 2004, 12:55:05 PM »
Sorry if I am being daft.  I have tried the search engine but had no joy.

Is there a way of calling up all your own posts and responses etc?  Currently I have to try and remember what section they are in?

I am on other groups where you can do exactly that.  You can also view all new posts since last visit.

Cheers

James

Hiya James, ;)

Not that I'm aware of...... :-/

I only know that, if you've posted in a thread, the subject line comes up bold...... if that helps..... :-/

What you could do in the search function:
-  "by user": fill in your own user name and select "posted in by someone"
-  "search for": fill in one letter (I tried "a", worked fine ;D), and select "match partial words"
- "check all", "subject" and "message" checked

..... and then you can fill in any time span in the "min age"/"max age" section....... but be aware that the search engine isn't too happy about you searching over a time span of more than 90 days :-/...... so if you want to find ALL your posts back, you may have to do it in several gos......

Let us know if you find an easier way! ;D ;D ;D

Dont forget you can also ask to be Notified Of Replies to any topic you have posted on.

All you need to do is check the "Notify of replies" box under the box you write your post in. Un-Check if you do not wish to be notified of any further replies

You could also use the Favourite button to mark posts you want to return to

You may have to do this twice, sometimes the first time you do it you get an "error 500". Basically, because the forum is so large now, sometimes the server times out. Just hit the back button in your browser and do it again...
