Should we know where members are from?

Point for considration.

Should members be required to state where in the world they are from on their profile?

This is a UK based forum and on teh whole we dicuss UK centric P and PA issues and treatments.  However sometimes it is difficult to understand the discussion position of another member witout knowing where they are form.

for clarity, we have Universal Healthcare in the UK and are blessed with access to cheap and plentiful medication this can colour our view of healthcare and likewise someone from say the US where the Public Healthcare system is all but non-existent similarly has views based on their experience.

I'm not saying members should have to prove where thay come from, we should trust them to tell the thruth

I'm also not saying they should give us the minutae of their address, just the country would do.

I'm not sure that should be necessary, though it would help if members mention which countries healthcare system they are talking about if they are not talking about the UK one to avoid confusion.

The manner in which people post is more important as discussions are not helped by a confrontational or accusatory manner which some use on occasion.

people can add their location to their profile...maybe if you started a thread to discuss this then members would add their location to their profile, so you can check if you want to??

A compramise maybe?
