chat room HUMPH!!!

every time I try to join the chat tonight my machine locks up and program not responding comes up on my task list.

any ideas or advice?

i am feeling very lonely and left out over here on my own!

Sorry you are having some problems. The chat room isn't the best I am afraid. I intend to upgrade to the latest today and maybe that will make a difference.

What internet browser are you using? Is there anyway that you can try from another PC to see if it is related to the PC?

I know the chat room chucks people out from time to time but it shouldn't hang their PC???

I'm using IE with XP Home but when I have to end taks it dumps all my IE windows but the PC will then respond again.

I had a thought that perhaps it was my home phone line - as I've just moved house perhaps the BT line needs a boost.

Will get on to BT and ask them to check it.

Will try new chat room latter at about 2000, unless the wifes beaten me up for spending all day on the pc agian.

I've used this version of the chatroom on Windows XP running IE - ADSL connection (no probs), Windows NT 4 running IE - ISDN connection (no probs), Mac OS 9.1 running IE (works,but too slowfor my liking), Netscape 4.7, which is an old version (the window opens but the chattext can't be seen), Opera (no probs) - all on ADSL connection.

The Netscape probs are surely related to the version (4.7) that I use, they're up to version 7.01 now.
