email seen publicly

Hi moderators, I am new here and I do not want my email to be publicly seen, so I checked the appropriate box when I was registering, but it didn't work, my email is seen publicly: what can I do to prevent this?

when you clicked the box to hide your email did you then click the box at the bottom to change profile? Maybe it doesnt save any changes until you click that box?

I tried that, but it does not work, my email is still publicly seen.

Hi

Your email isn't publicly available, you can see but nobody else can. Ticking the "hide my e-mail" box will still allow you to see it, but not anyone else. The reason that you can still see it is in case you need to change it you can easily see what it is set to.
