have been speakin 2 a grt  gal called RAINY, shes avin right probs with the boards..... she  logs on and can recieve im's and enter chat  but when she wants 2 read the boards or post a thread it tells her  she must register or log in
any ideas any body .........

A hiccup in the user .dat file? (it happens - it's only computers after all )

Maybe she could try deleting her membership and reregistering? I think if she deletes her membership first, she should be able to reregister with the same name and password.... I think.....

Hi Rainy  

I am fairly sure that this is caused by the settings of your computer rather than the forum.

Basically to use the site a couple of cookies are downloaded to your PC when you login, these are totally safe and just contain your password details and username (they are called YaBBusername & YaBBpassword). The forum software needs to see these cookies so that it knows you are logged on.

For some reason there is some setting or software on your PC that is blocking these cookies i.e. something is stopping them being downloaded in the first place or once they are downloaded something is stopping the forum software from seeing them. This could be a number of things, your Internet Browser Settings, a Firewall, some Cookie Crushing software...

Are you trying to access the site from home or at work? Could you tell me which internet browser you are using?

I am using Internet Explorer 6 with the security & privacy settings set to medium. If you are using internet explorer could you check that the settings are the same. Could you try access the site from a different PC in a different location?
