Day 44-55 LDN dose 3mg/3ml

no real change from last update really...i'm really willing ldn to work as with most treatments, us p people
embark upon, we want to see results and quick!!! Roll Eyes i'm also a typical impatient bloke Smiley

I am seeing a small difference with some patches which are flattening in the middle with p spots on
the circumference of the patches, larger skin patches still scaling up at 3mg, although the process is slower to scale.
Scalp p has reared it's ugly head again...but not really that bad and is under control.
Facial P is nonexistant at the mo, not needed to use trimovate for over a week or so, even after agrivating my p
with the regular weekend beer binges Cool Grin

i now have some lush dream cream to moisturise with, so will see how that benefits my skin.

sofar done 4 weeks @ 1mg/1ml, 2 wks @ 2ml, 2 wks (nearly) @ 3ml.

from this monday will push up to 4mg/4ml daily and see how that goes. Smiley Wink

day 56 - 59 ldn dose now 4mg/4ml:

Had a phone consultation with the doc at the EHC yesterday.
have agreed to up dose now to 4mg/4ml per day for the next 2 weeks.
Then up dose to to 4.5mg/4.5ml thereafter...the max permitted dosage for LDN is 5mg/5ml...
provided i can take this without side effect.

whilst chatting to the doc i asked from all the patients he has seen, what was their optimum dosage
which cleared them, which was 4-4.5mg interestingly enough Smiley and mainly between 3-4 month markers.

I myself have fastracked through the dosage and have now got to this doseage within the 2 month mark,
so will be looking seriously at LDN's mode of action for the next 2 months, hopefully to increase the limited
benefits i have achieved thus far.

Jeni...what proved to be the magic doseage for you...was it 3ml?

The dream cream is very easy to apply and keeps the p moisturised well, however will get through a 240g pot
within 4 days with my P and at £9.60 a pop, quite expensive.  I may need to negotiate a discount with lush Roll Eyes
or enquire if they do a bigger pots, and order in bulk!!

skin pretty much the same as before, be looking at LDN giving my P a good kicking - and soon -  fingers X'd. Cool

Hi Mince (!) Pie

I think from the original thread, Jeni said 3.5ml was trigger point for her, but I guess gender/weight/severity of p must impact.  Hope the increased dosage makes some marked improvement for you.

Paul on to 2ml for just a couple of days now.  He's intending to "keep taking the medicine" for a good while and review perhaps end of January (3 month point for him).  Also taking vitamin D and omega 3 fish oil (just whatever it says on the tub!).

If we get around to doing a "review photoshoot", I'll try the dropbox thingy.  Just a technophobe really - frightened my pc will freeze, never to thaw!

By the way, are you puff or shortcrust?

shortcrust deedee Grin Grin...i've just bought 6 boxes of mr kipling's from Morrison's..on special offer
buy 1 get 2 free Cheesy...quite a few of us pho members decided to add a xmas addition onto our display names
i thought mince-pie was appropriate! Roll Eyes

you may be right about the gender/weight/severity of p....i may need to goto max with with my 17st 6'3" frame Shocked
i know also that vit D and omega 3 can help out too...I'll maybe look at that.

a "review photoshoot" eh? sounds very professional and glamorous although Paul may not agree with his p  Roll Eyes Wink
strike a pose and vogue Cheesy
if you need any help on pic posting etc...give me a nod if you need to.

Anyway back to diary:
Day 60-67 LDN dose 4mg/4ml

been on 4mg for ten days now..and i think I'm at the turning point...having regular vivid dreams at the mo Shocked Roll Eyes
certain small patches are flat and are not scaling(encouraging Smiley) , bigger patches are though....but a lot slower scaling up.
Had a bad facial p breakout over the weekend coldsnap though...my forehead was snowing!!!
Have reigned the p there back in again.  I need to see a lot more from the LDN over the next 2 months before
decision to continue or not. am remaining positive!

will be looking at upping dose to 4.5mg/4.5ml from this coming Monday.
Also have a NHS hospital consultatant appt Friday to discuss how i am with the p at the moment.....

Have any other LDN'ers got updates on how they are doing?

6 boxes Shocked  I must need to get to the shops - have only a box of Tescos turkish delight thins and a tub of Jacobs cheese footballs in my Christmas Corner.  (That's behind the armchair that Paul and the daughter can't be bothered to pull out to get to the goodies!).

Hi Mince-pieman,
So, re your question - I ended up sticking on about the 3.5 doseage as it just seemed to work, although I think the key is more the timescale really rather than a high doseage.  By the time I got to 3.5 I had prob been on LDN for about 3/4 months and really only saw any noteable change after that amount of time then a lot more improvement by about 6/7 months - so all I can say is just have a lot of patience!!  I've actually come off LDN temporarily as am expecting baby no.2 and a bit wary of taking anything when pregnant although the essential health clinic have said it's fine.  I came off it about 6 weeks ago and it is slowly coming back, but v v slowly which is good - it's still only v small patches and no itching, so good to know that once it's done it's stuff it does last a little while  Cheesy  - hopefully for another 6/7 months until I get back on it!

Anyway, just keep going with it and really hope you see some good results in the next few months Smiley

Just got back from NHS derm vist today and PASI score has reduced down to 21 compared to PASI 3 months back.

I am going to be prepped ready for Enbrel in march 2010 should LDN not prove itself, (funding approved)
so got my blood form to do and a enbrel patient info box to read up on!...
