I'm i hider usually, but difficult to hide my face and my hands. If im at work i will wear t-shirts occasionally if its not really red, but if im out running in the summer or of to sunbathe, then t-shirt and shorts as i have been a bit braver the last year. I guess part of me is ashamed of how i look. Stupid i know Sad

You shouldn't be ashamed of how you look! I know how you feel but in all honesty other people will psoriasis don't put me off and the people that would judge you for it are shallow and ignorant.
Congrats on being braver, show a bit more  Wink

Thank you Smiley Kiss

I usually hide mine, but when I'm feeling brave/reckless I get it out and usually get compliments tbh.
About how attractive confidence is & how people wish they could show there's and not care.
Agree with Mike tho, if you have P then you should be the one saying whether its attractive or not, not anyone else Smiley

Tis true, but i know some people are bothered about what others think, it's a hard groove to get out of!

I have had people come and ask me about it before... Like genuine questions to whether it's contageous etc, but out of interest rather than EWWWWW fear...

Wish everyone was like that, they get educated at the same time!!!

My most sensitive issue is my fingernails....people make really personal and hurtful remarks like ' look at the state of your hands...you should be ashamed ' because they assume that I bite them. It makes me very self-conscious Embarrassed Embarrassed :'(

As an adult I am not bothered if people ask, look for whatever reason - I don't show it because it looks so horrible and I have to admit that although I see people with P showing it - I do cringe - I really mean no offence , but it is is  something inside me that makes me embarrassed for them.
I have had it since I was 7 and it ruled and shaped my life, the teenage years were hell - like I said in an earlier post - I developed a tough exterior to deal with it - and made up my own style of fashion to hide it and lied a lot - to myself family and friends.

Very rarely do I show more than my hands and face to the public.  Last time was just before Christmas when we went to CentreParcs.  Fortunately, we went swimming in the evenings where the low light levels made sure my P was not so apparent.

The worse part is the walk to and from the locker room.  You can feel the eyes on you and look away when you stare at them (with the exception of kids who carry on staring).

At work, I make no secret about my condition but I still wear long sleeve shirts.  I am hoping my stint on MTX will help clear things up a bit in time for Summer.

Its easier said than done, but none of us should be ashamed of who we are.  Its the person inside that counts most.

I don't cover my p - I have it on my face, so unless I went out in a burkha, it's always on show. I've never let it stop me going swimming, though I can remember some hurtful comments when I was younger. If the same thing happened now, I'd give them the glare and continue enjoying myself! Tbh, I'm more concerned about the cellulite on my rugby player type thighs than the p that's on them!  Roll Eyes Grin
