they seem expensive...compared to the states...and yours are 400iu while swansons and others in the states are 1000iu...twice the dose for half the money and twice the quantity,,...i also see you have fewer online stores. They have a pretty tight market in the UK...not much competition... an online entrepreneur's dream...I think puritan pride sells out of Switzerland,..england must have some strict drug laws

Hi Suits - think Grandtheory is correct about the vitamin D on Higher Nature site.

If you want to buy from Higher Nature then search vitamin D - it comes up as item 8 on first page, which is cholecalciferol (D3) - £3.00 for 60 capsules or £5.50 for 120 capsules, with each capsule providing 500iu of vitamin D3.

Click on the link, type the word vitamin into the search field, it'll give you 43 results, go to the bottom of the page and click next. The vit D is at the top of the next page and available in 60 or 120 capsules.

I have ordered the following:

Vitamin D3 - 500iu

Folic acid - 400iu

Zinc - 20mg

MSM (organic sulpher) - 1000mg

From the Holland & Barrett site I ordered:

Norwegian cod liver oil - 410mg

Flaxseed Oil - 1000mg

+ I will take one of the little red cheap multi vits

I hope this is a good combination.

AT 500iu you'd have to take 3 a day....pretty spendy...has to be a cheaper place..

from what i've read, and i've read alot.. to get sufficient vitamin D from cod liver oil you get too much  Vitamin A..I don't trust the claims from the sites like the Mercola website..i believe they promote cod liver oil..i don't.  I can show you countless scientific  articles on why not to rely on cod liver oil for Vitamin D and not take more then a teaspoon...the additional vitamin A is toxic, interferes with The omega 3 fatty acids and the additional A can result in an increase of hip fractures.

If one takes only 500 iu/day...it'll only prevent rickets...won't effect P.

Zinc or sulfur i never suggested so that adds another variable which is unaccountable. I explained what works...anything else may be a plus or a minus if you catch my drift.

just my best guess 8-)

While the pound is touching the 2 dollar mark it works out cheaper to get them from the states. I ordered 6 bottles of d3 and received 12 bottles all for 50 dollars including delivery to the UK.

With regards to the cod liver oil, I bought this for the "fish oil" part of the mix. What other source of fish oil would you suggest then.

Cheers

hi grandthoery...andi is right...

fish oil is contains omega 3 fatty acid and has little vitamin D unlike cod liver oil which is high in D and Vit A

So now, the idea is that fish oil and/or flax  with will help reduce the inflammation which we suffer with but those alone won't touch the P. I take both flax and fish oil because i believe it's helps with your heart,Alzheimer's, Blood pressure etc..

Initially i only took flax seed oil which your body converts to a usable form of omega3 acids but i think for those on a budget the vitamin D, ibuprofen and multivitamin works...the fish oil and flax attacks the problem of inflammation and helps in overall response...The volume of  molecular interactions is almost incomprehensible but feeling and seeing the results and upon reading the scientific literature allow me to  believe this not only safe and effective but does actually promote health in other areas.

So i can only say..read the literature (links) or investigate so you can make an informed choice.

Thanks guys. Its sounds to me as if the vitamin D (D3) is the key ingrediant to all this. The others aid the process but without the vit D it would be pointless. What do you reckon?
