Paul,  according to some peeps, it's pretty gud.

Madcat suggested that you make your own paste using  fresh avocado she has a point !  I've found some in chemist with aloe vera added, it's not bad lifts the scales and leaves the skin more noticeable and red, but less itchy and painful.

Paul,
I've started juicing as recommended by some people here, particularly Madcat and included about a quarter of avocado this morning.
I'm gonna make a paste from remainder and put on my p .. with some olive oil and will let you know how it works 2moro ..

Paul, I dont think it will work on P if I'm honest, I made a paste out of a little and tried it .. and perhaps it didnt' flake as much as it would otherwise, but it's difficult to know .. I also bought a jar of acocado mixed with aloe vera and that provided better relief, perhaps its the mixture that did it .. anyway hope you get somethin that works for you.  Its trial and error lots of the time.

Wishin you luck

I just aint sure what to try, today has been awful for me. Its Saturday and I regulary go to watch the football, after the game I usually have to climb down the chairs as the stairs are always congested; today I left a minute early so I could get down the stairs. Why? Psoriasis behind my legs has given me some pain today and was unable to bend them as much as I usually can - I felt like I was 85, im only 25!!!

Sadly I've ran out of cream but will get my prescription next week; also a friend who is a P sufferer has suggested that diet couold be a big factor in mine being so bad. I have bought some avacardos and will try and eatch one everyday to see if it does the trick.

OO Paul, am sad for you.  Of course you want to stay with your friends till the end of the game and leave like everyone else but can't risk being in more pain due to skin cracking etc on back of legs.  It is so important to moisturise daily, I use diprobase which is one of those oily ones.

The alternative forum has information on diet and how it relates to P.  Of course everyone is different and while some have 100% success with this, the hereditary factor for others (like me) means that it might not totally clear.  However, I am hopeful and am on the juicing regime which means I get lots more than my recommended 5 fruit/veg per day and get them in concentrated fresh form which can only be good for me.  Alcohol is certainly bad for mine, as is chocolate and coffee.

I would suggest you watch your diet and see what may cause your P to worsen.  Also try to avoid stressful situations or worrying about it - I've seen my Dad just get on with life and P is not at all obvious, in fact even in short sleeves it's hardly noticeable ... and his attitude has a lot to do with it.  He is, honestly, not bothered.  I wish I could be like him.

I wish you luck with avocado, they are rather fattening tho but there's some real goodness in them.  Make sure you eat them when ripe - if hard, leave them for a few days to soften.

And have a look at the juicing thread by MadCat and the diet-related one by Totoro as both are absolutely excellent and provide food for thought !

A good start certainly, but don’t expect overnight miracles if you are still eating a poor diet the rest of the time.

I am using cold-pressed avocado oil as a body moisturiser after a shower – I can also use it as a salad dressing, so it is very pure.

Some people have an allergy to avocado oil - so if you do buy some, make sure you do a 24 hour skin patch test first.

In the following article it states....... “Early scientific study showed promising effects using avocado in a cream for psoriasis. Additional studies are needed in this area before a firm recommendation can be made”:

I don’t know how you could juice an avocado (!) – but you can certainly blend them in smoothies to drink.
