I have been posting here for a while now (mainly on the alternative forum) but I have just realised that I have never introduced myself on the History forum - so better late than never!
I am
really old – at least 42

and was born with P.
I have been pretty much clear of P since May 2008, and I am maintaining clearance through diet alone.
I don’t think many newbies go to the alternative section, so hopefully my history will help others to realise there can be light at the end of the tunnel.
BackgroundI don’t use drugs or medicated / steroid creams or coal tar shampoo or UVB, or any of the traditional P treatments, and have not done so for many years now.
Years ago (
around the late 1990’s I think) I gave up on them and just “put up” with visible P patches.
In 2006, I had my first ever break through with clearing P naturally – I used homemade hemp oil and shea body butter and took low reflux salmon oil tablets.
I was able to maintain this clearance for some time. But then the recipe on the body butter was changed and the product stopped working as well, this combined with illness and work related stress caused a P flare. But luckily it was only a very small flare, nothing like the days of old.
In 2007, I started following a Raw Vegan diet in an attempt to treat another health issue naturally. I had terrible side effects from drugs for this disease and had given them up to search out natural treatments.
Immediately the consumption of Green Smoothies on the Raw Vegan diet cleared up some white skin where an encrusted P patch use to be.
For six months my P gradually cleared up, until I was just left with some stubborn areas / hard to reach areas. Then I started vegetable juicing in February 2008 and was completely clear from P by May 2008.
I started the diet and juicing to improve my health, so to discover that it also helped to totally clear my P – it was an unexpected but very pleasant bonus.
And by juicing every day since and watching my diet, I have pretty much maintained clearance for almost 2.6 years now.
