daughter age 8 with chronic plaque psoriasis

Hiya to everyone as i already disclosed on here about my daughter who has had this condition since June last year,she is under going UV light therapy,they said yesterday they are new plaques still coming out as yet after 7Th treatment,they said as its only been over 2 weeks in this will know more were they stand in next 2 weeks with her.if still coming out then said back to consultant earlier than plannedthen it would be tablets or another treatment is biological drugs,never heard of them can anyone please tell me more if more plaques do come out with psoriasis and what is biological drugs dint sound very nice anyway,please if any of you can give me advice on how light therapy tablets etc would be much appreciated I'm just worried for her right now and wish there was something i could do i just feel useless,thanks for taking time in reading this and please contact me cheers

Its all about trying to find what suits the person..... Bio logics are the last resort and its hard to get on them as funding has to be applied for..
PUVA is sometimes used if UVB lights fail... PUVA is a different form of light and you either bath in some stuff or take a tablet orally which makes the skin for light sensitive.  Not sure what the guidelines are for children.
UVB took a few weeks for it to start to have an effect on my skin but did help for a while..
Make sure you encourage your daughter to well moisturise especially after light treatment.
Don't feel useless, your doing what you can to support her, be there for her, ask as many questions as you need on her and gain all the info you can, just having an understanding of P, will help your daughter.... Good luck
