Thanks guys, - Your replies have been really helpful. Darryl, I've never even considered it being guttate, but after looking online thats definitely what it seems like.

What would you recommend as the best emollient? I have double base, E45, or Zerobase.

Thanks again

Kris

Hi Kris,

I tend to use Doublebase during the day, and Hydromol at night. If you get prescribed with tubifast bandages (or buy them) then you can wear these on your arms at night, and if you snip a small hole at the hand end, then you can put this over your gloves and thumb. That helps hold the gloves in place. I do hope that that makes sense!

I haven't used E45 for years and don't think that I have ever used Zerobase.

Regards,

Daryl

I always understood uvb/puva to be effective for guttate  :-\

E45 not recommended as can sometimes irritate doc said so i've never used that, i find cetraban (prescribed) is good for me and avoid any products with sodium laureth sulphate (SLS) it is a known irritant and you'd be surprised how many bath/shampoo etc products have it in. Also dont use biological soap powder but one for sensitive skin

Hi all : )
I get clini-fast garments on prescription with having.90% of my body covered with p..
Vests , shorts , socks well u get the picture there expensive so some doc,s don't like to prescride them.. as for the ointment you get dovabet... It's great for removing the skin but as other members have said needs to be used with caution ... Don't apply it in any folds of skin ...ie. inbetween your fingers because after long use it will thin out your skin.. and this ointment shouldn't be used for long periods of time because of that reason alone .. you need to asked.to be ref to a derm by your gp or self ref yourself .. because your well within your rights to and you may want to try none laytex gloves when at work when preparing.food
I'm a butcher by trade and used to ware blue ones on my hands ..only when handling food because your skin needs as much air and light they can get...
Shame there's not a market for new skin because I would.be a multi millionaire ... DNA everywhere
