Hello
« on: December 04, 2011, 09:56:20 PM »
Hello all,

I'm Christopher, 26, from Leicester and I've had psoriasis since I was about 11 and I also have psoriatic arthropathy since I was about 19. I've been on methotrexate (15mg) for a good few years now for the PA but it's never helped my skin so after a false start with acitretin (the itching!) I've been put on ciclosporin (125mg) for my skin as well. I'm also moving to the methotraxate injections as I can't handle the gastric side effects any more either.  I've tried just about every cream going along with UV light and tar etc. over the years, some of which work briefly, most just ruin my clothes! Anyway that's my background. I'd be interested to know if anybody else out there is on more than one drug at the same time as I used to think that was a big no-no. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and if I can help anybody I'd be more than happy :)

Hi and welcome from me

I've heard of this combo being used quite a few times. Personally i havent had to have the combo but i had ciclo for my skin and had almost 3 years clear on it before it started to become ineffective, so fingers crossed it could work well for you. ps, if you find you get tired at first just go with it cos that will pass  :)

I'm hoping that it'll just calm it down more than anything, and stop it spreading. I'm not expecting miracles, I gave up on that years ago. I'm 5 days into the ciclo now and feeling sick as a pig at the minute but I'm managing. I also get my first MTX injection this coming friday. I've been off the tablets for a month now and my joints are terrible. I get out of the chair like an old man :)
