HEY people im new...
« on: August 24, 2010, 07:39:47 PM »
Hi how is everyone?

I'm 23 and have had P since about oct/nov last year... it started off as a little scab (i thought it was a wart  >:( ), which my puppy knocked the head off.It then turned in to a MASSIVE scab on my elbow, it then started to spread really quickly--- in my hair, over my arms and legs, my back and my hands.

Ive NEVER had any skin problems before this, i went to the docs and they sent me to see a specialist she gave me diprosalic ointment, dermol lotion, dovobet and cocois ointment and dermax shampoo for my hair (this cost a fortune!!!). I started using them all everyday untill the P was no longer raied (like i was told) but about 5 or so days later it was back and i have not been able to get rid of it since....

i have to admit i have not been using the creams every day on my arms as i work in a REALLY REALLY REALLY dirty/horrible enviroment so having the cream on my arms and hands was not good as the dirt and hair and everything else was sticking to me and making me itch.

All of a sudden the P is itching all the time an bleeding and the ones on my arms hurt even when my jumper rubs against it....its keeping me awake etc

The creams are removing the scabs but even when the scabs are gone, if i have stood still too long/slept with me arms straight and then move or bend it cracks the P and makes them bleed.....

Thanks for listening to my rant lol

any advice would be great   x

Hello and welcome from me.  I would ask for a referral back to the dermatologist - UVB treatment worked really well for me - it is not a cure but cetaintainly gave me a few months remission.  You have to be very careful of you are working in a dirty environment that you don't get infected.

You also have to be very careful with the strong creams - they can damage your good skin.  For the night I find it really helpful to have a soak - no soap and use an emoilient - I use Epaderm and then plaster myself in doublebase, moisturising is the key to help with the cracking and bleeding - It is a bit a a pian going to bed all greased up - but it really helps
Good luck and read through the boards there is lots of useful information

Hello and welcome along to the forum. I would try to make sure you moisturise your skin when you are not at work, as it will do your skin the world of good.
