Hi all. I'm very new to PHO and don't really know what I'm doing!!!!  I have had psoriasis for 25 years. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in March this year, although have been struggling with pain in my joints for a lot of years. I'm struggling a lot at present with pain, despite being on a cocktail of drugs. Would appreciate any messages of support and advice. Many thanks. x

Hiya and welcome :)

Sure it won't take you long to get used to things around here...there is a lot of useful information on here as well as loads of support from some fantastic people!

Sorry to hear you are not getting any relief on the meds you are on. It is often a case of trial and error to find the right medication to help. What works for one person won't always work for someone else :(

Hi to you all and thank you for your words of support and encouragement. I'm currently on 15mg of methotrexate, 5mg folic acid (both weekly). Daily I am on 10mg leflunomide, 1gr naproxen and 15 mg of lansoprasol and paracetamol if needed but I find it does nothing so I don't take it. Am still getting a lot of pain, despite the cocktail of drugs. I'm also finding it hard accepting that I can't do as much as I used to any more. Am keeping as active as I can, walking, swimming and cycling but need to find a balance between getting benefit from exercise and over doing it.

I do get some support at home but they really don't understand it. Conscious of this not becoming a moaning session as thats all I feel I do at times ???

Thanks to you all again.  xxx
