Just found you
« on: January 30, 2008, 03:42:29 PM »
Good afternoon all. I have just found you after searching for a recommended ointment Dovobet.  I've had small patches, (elbows shins and cheeks of b*m) for 20 years now, but noticed it has gotten really red this past month or so.  Im guessing it's the time of year and lack of sun!!!
Anyways always used Dovonex which is fine most of the time (but doesn't touch the redness/soreness) but am going to ask DR for Dovobet....

Advice please????

Hello and welcome from me!
My gp has just started me on Dovonex on my legs where its the worst because they are always covered.
I agree though its always worse on bits that are always covered...will let you know how I get on.

Hi there, welcome along  ;)

I have had good results using dovobet sparingly and only twice a week,  with dovonex in between.

The only advice I can offer is becareful and sensible with its use.   Some people seem to have an adverse affect to it and get a bad rebound afterwards.  When it does come time to stop using it wean yourself off it very slowly . . . .

Hiya and welcome along from me too :) I agree with the above do be carefull with Dovobet. Have a look at past threads. It does seem to work wonders at first but I am one of those who get bad flare ups after stopping it's use, no matter how carefully I try to wean myself of it. having said that, sometimes I do resort to it in desparation. Good luck with whatever you try, I hope you find something that works for you soon. :-*

Hello,
I had been on Dovebet for 2 years, alternating monthly with various other creams, I must warn you that not only did it stop being effective but also rebounds were every month in the end, and these can be very nasty :'(
It took me around 3 months to wean myself off, with the help of BJ's formula and the now defunct Osas cream.
Having said all that, if you do use it very sparingly as others have advised it can be extremely effective.

Best wishes,
Sharon.
