Make way for the little one!
« on: September 01, 2004, 05:51:42 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I've been a member of this site for a while now, but my Psoriasis is so under control, I don't really need to come on here (with no disrespect).
I have no clue if I'm the youngest on here, as I'm 14. But I am sure I've been on this site since I was 12.

I used to live on the East Coast, until my mum decided to move to Leeds and of course that meant starting a new school. With no siblings with me it was a big step as I suffer from anxiety. The first person I met at my new school was this girl, she was very pretty, but the first thing I noticed was her flakey scalp. 'Does she have Psoriasis?' I thought. Later on in the day I found out she actually does have it! And a lot worse than myself. I was totally shocked (but in a good way  ;)) Never in all my life have I met someone with Psoriasis, except you lot and my mum.

At my old school, no one has Psoriasis and P.E was a total pain because I would be stared at like I was some sort of Guinea Pig. My Psoriasis was a lot worse then.
Now I've cleaned my diet up, everything is going well, except a few patches, but that doesn't matter.

One thing however, that I don't understand is why one large patch of Psoriasis on my forearm has NEVER budged since I got it at the age of 6. No creams will budge it, it doesn't get better at all. Why does this happen  ???

Anyway just thought I'd post in here, thanks for reading.

Sarah.  :-*

Hi Sarah

Nice to read your post.  Mine is clear too... but I still find this place useful.

A lot of people seem to have stubborn patches that don't respond to anything.

Good that you have found a real life young person with P.  If things do flare, you'll have someone close at hand who understands you (instead of us old people.. lol).
