My 11 year old daughter
« on: February 18, 2010, 09:35:38 PM »
Hello All

just introducing myself on behalf of my daughter Georgia she has P. She has had it for a little over 12 months she has had the steroid creams and is now having the light treatment 3x a week.
We have been using Coal tar shampoo on er scalp and it has totally cleared up  :)

She is on her 38 season of the light treatment and its just making no difference at all so this week I took her to a herbal shop and got some Pi Xuan Jing, has anyone tried this with any success ?!?!? :-\

Would love to hear if anyone has anything we could try

Thanks

Hi Kay and welcome to PHO,  and your daughter too  ;)

I've never tried Pi Xuan Jing cream, but did try chinese medicince a few years back.  It was two types of capsules that I took about 20 of each daily and herbs to be cooked up then drank and washed in!

It was a complete waste of money for me.  Do be very cautious that the Pi Xuan Jing does not have any hidden steriod in it!  Especially if your daughter is having UVB too.

Thirty eight sessions is an awful lot to see no difference at all,  thats nearly twelve weeks.  I take it she is being assessed weekly by the derm or nurse at least.

Hi Guys

Just an update, took Georgia back to the Chinese doctor and she gave her a course of herbal tea and she is having a massage once a week to help balance her.
This is the 2nd week the tea stinks Lol, but she is a good lass and will try anything. Last week the massage made her cry this week it made her laugh, this is all part of it balancing her ying and yang!?!?
Anyway her body is functioning much more regular if u know what I mean, she has more energy, losing a bit of weight, and guess what u can hardly see the P on her arms and its fading on her legs too  :D Lets hope we have fond something that will work for little georgia !!!

Will keep u posted, thanks for your replys

Hi Kay,

Missed your thread earlier about Georgia but glad to see that she's showing signs of improvement.  Its difficult with P as what works for one may not for another and I have tried chinese meds in the past with no real success.  Hope it is successful for you and Georgia enjoys a lengthy respite from this dreaded condition.

Hugs to you both

Hi and welcome Kay and Georgia :)

I'm just wondering which coal tar shampoo your daughter has been prescribed?  I have been through so many shampoos, lotions and ointments now and still have my full 95% scalp coverage  :D  ;D
