my psoriasis experience
« on: September 08, 2004, 07:02:26 PM »
there are a lot of good people in this forum. just remember the person you used to be before this not a very nice person of an illness began to affect you. its not the outside that matters but its very easy to get down when you suffer from psoriasis. i've had it for about a year now. ive tried various lotions and some phony cures but they obviously didnt work. im now hoping that i will qualify for light therapy. does anyone know how they determine you ellegibilty for light therapy? im currently on milk thistle capsules and drops (they replenish and protect the liver) and exorex lotion. im determined to beat this illness. just dont get too carried away this the stuff the doctor gives to shut you up. they can do more harm than good. ive read that cannabis is heplful in the treatment of psoriasis but as with ever other claim im pretty sure its fibs. i regularly smoke cannabis and i have managed to limit alcohol to the weekend. my psoriasis ceases to change, it has been the same since the very start. but what the hell, im not gonna stop drinking or smoking because it helps me forget about the damn thing, and is the only time i can relax outside of my bedroom. my sister had psoriasis years ago but she got cured. so thats just proof that everyone in this forum can beat it and i really hope you all do. just keep the information pumping cos someones gotta get it right, and i doubt it'll be doctors or scientists.

best of luck to you all.

Hi

Hope you can find all the help and advice you need on the site.

I have no idea how the derms decide who can go for light theropy. I have been told that I can start on it soon and am sooooo desperate for it to work!

Welcome to the boards   :)

Hmmm, interesting.....

I'm sure smoking does help some people but what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another, I guess its up to the individual to decide how they want to try to beat the p

Good luck with whatever you decide to try. ;)

Hi minjin,

welcome aboard :D

I moved your thread to the history room where usually people introduce themselves ;)

P can ge down to you sometimes, but it is possible to stay positive most of the times.
For me this forum has helped me a great deal in it - I hope you can make similar experiences :)
