hi deb
i have had p since i was 20, i am now 38 and learnt to live with it.. i use to take notice of other people but i don't anymore, why should you feel small because of your condition, we know what it is and what we go through everyday and not 1 day is the same..OK last week i was out in my shorts and vest and i was shopping in my local supermarket and this posh women gave me such a look is was of pure disgust, i just looked at her smiled and carried on. she didn't have to look at me in that way but ask instead and leave her understanding that not everyone has perfect skin. I like people to ask me so i can leave the knowledge they need to understand..
Any way hope the mtx works for you, i have been on it for a while well i was on it for 2 years then had a break for 6 months, trying other treatments that didn't work, so I've been back on it since last september, I'm on 15mg and 5mg of folic you can't take both on the same day. mtx on Monday and folic on Friday,(M for Monday and F for Friday). you do need regular blood checks as it can play havoc with your liver and blood cells.
OK enough for now let me know how you go and remember keep smiling and world will always return the smile back, thats how i get through every day. ;D
we all leave an imprint on other people, no matter how long we know them.

:) thanks for the welcome guys I have found some great tips already like moisterising.
Anyway my psoriasis lately has been worse because of the heat, and as I am going on holiday my doctor has given me Dovabet. I'm quite happy as I know this works really well, pity I'm only allowed to use it for 1 month.

Hi & belated welcome  ;)

Make sure that you don't just stop the Dovobet suddenly - you should 'wean' yourself off it gradually - ie. something like twice a day, once a day, then once every other day.
Some people on here have reported that their p came back worse when they just stopped the Dovobet suddenly.

Good luck & have a lovely holiday! :-*

Thanks I saw that aswell on this site. So would you suggest that I wean myself off in the last week?

I had forgotton how much it could itch, last time I had it was in 2002, I had a bad night last night. My mum was really worried like mothers are  ;D Anyway it wasn't as bad this morning when I put it on.
