New skin for old...
« on: December 12, 2011, 11:01:53 AM »
Just wanted to introduce myself - I've had Psoriasis since I was six. Not bad at first, just a patch on my hairline and on my knee. It really kicked off when I was a teenager - the usual stresses being a factor not helped by usual teenage behaviour - drinking, smoking, coffee.
I can't drink instant coffee I've found, and the results on my skin after being prescribed penicillin are generally devastating.
I now refuse to take it when I'm offered. But how to explain - no, I'm not allergic to penicillin, no I will not take it. Yes It does affect my skin Dr... I'm sure you've been fed the usual barrage of protesting replies. But we are the ones that live with this condition right? So we know, I know, someone should put a health warning on that stuff. Just sayin.
I've had really bad times with psoriasis and times when its retreated out of sight. Mostly I can say that I don't suffer with it as in there are no out of control leisions on my body. But if I'm run down, stressed, depleted or not being honest with my self it will creep back.
So recently, after a bought of tonsillitis followed by all manor of nasty minor ailments, my scaly friend has made its entrance - On my face of all places. Thanks.
I was looking up sea buckthorn cream on the net - something that has helped in the past - and stumbled on Barneys formula - I am intrigued to say the least, doesn't look that hard to follow and seems promising - anyone else tried this?
