New Sufferer, Plaque P
« on: May 28, 2011, 01:34:31 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm a new sufferer, always had Excema but never P, however my dad has it. Developed about 5 months ago, a couple small round red marks but now completely covered in them. red raised circles about the size of 2p coins everywhere.... arms, legs, back, bottom and penis. permanent dry skin on my face and ears but no big red legions, just flaky. literally NO marks on my chest or stomach which is odd, im not sure if this is common? No scalp dryness or flakiness, its completely fine.

Using Oilatum moituriser and Xamiol on my body. Finding Xamiol to be very problematic, not very helpful and stains clothes with wet marks if it touches them.

It made my life a misery and unfortunately I got depressed but over it now, trying to find ways to keep on top of it.

Been reading online and something that keeps cropping up is throat infection being a possible cause. I've had one quite severely swollen tonsil for about a year and have had two courses of tonsilitis anti-biotics but its still there. it doest hurt or anything its just...there. Wondering if this might be a cause?

baically im just a headless chicken here just trying to find lots of info on what to do!

Hiya and welcome from me  :)

Yes there is sometimes a connection with tonsil problems, i have read of on here of people who have had problems with tonsils and once they were taken out skin got much better. Has your doc mentioned them being removed due to the throat problems you suffer anyway?

Hello and welcome. Some peeps do find that their throat problems cause flares in their p. A lot of peeps find p puts them on a downer, and some people do suffer from depression. Check out all the different posts on the subject, remember that there is always peeps on here willing to chat, and don't forget to see your doctor.
