Newbie! Hello

Hi Guys,

Firstly very nice forum this seems to be, lots of information. My P is mainly just on my hands in patches, and a big patch on my leg and elbows.

Found the site through googleing about different treatments for P, been back and forth to docters for years and finally manged to get them to refer me to a derm, the docs had given me loads of creams to try like betnovate, dovabet and various others. They seemed to make the P better for a few days then stopped working.

After my app with the derm a few days back i am now on Dithrocream, starting on 0.1 for 1 week and buidling up to the 1% then have to go back and see how im doing, i must say ive just applied the Dithro for the second time and it seems to be clearing the skin slightly already! looking forward to seeing how much more it helps, seems that alot of people have had success with this stuff.

hi ryan ;)

welcome to pho.

I've used dithro cream (short contact..max 30 min for me..)in the distant past when i was using in combo with uvb treatment, it's messy and stains and produces "dithrorings"
around plaques if not careful and apply onto normal skin. Ended up on 3% strength
mixed with lassers paste...needed cleaning off with olive oil before showering off and having UVB.
never used it as a sole treatment option tho.
there are quite a few posts on the lab / rec room boards.
use the search function (top right corner) and search on your keyword
for further indepth peoples experiences :)
pie ;)
