oh, dear
« on: April 15, 2004, 10:45:48 PM »
Hi, all
What fantastic site and lot of interesting info not sure on the protocols so here goes
Been a member a  couple wks now I think
I am sure the moderator’s will put me right, shame they can’t do the spelling for me either
a bit down today my new gp wants me in hosp  fast  but ive got my reasons “suggest you read my profile first”  he’s been very good  but is pressing very hard
he’s never seen any think like  it he was gob smacked by it”
it’s a long story and I will try to  keep it short but understandable I hope, so here goes
for years had trouble with p. pa. 1987 kidney stones caused by pa. p Every where even up my anus.   been of work 4 year,s now   4th attep 1styear got dla high rate and blue badge
4years ago got a pilonidal sinus 1op then perennial sinus caused by my p. they said.    given antibiotics then it got serious the perennial went into my bowel 2nd op later in 2 wks still bad  bleeding a lot 3rd op told I had a fissure that they had mist and should not have any troubs now, over period of a year of follow/ups  I complained of some thing growing internal from the op site in my bowel to my testicle (referred  pain was there diagnoses) my then gp said its not worth examining you a consultant knows more than me.”  I coulden’t walk.  over the wks to and from follow /ups, nothing stopped the pain not even bott scotch  and  oro/morth, then I started bleeding  from bott again and was rushed back any way “to make the story shorter” op 4 he discovered it was a fistula did what he could and i was refer to a urologist he referred me back saying it was his job and after a letter from him he will do it fast. And by the way you will lose your testicle,s  He done his 7th op and
he applogised and said he was at a loss` and could not remove, any thing as everything is
intertwinned  and a mess. So after a few wks  when  I sent  home I   got  a new gp and got referred to st marks who spec in these things fistula  p. pa etc. they done a mri and explorerty  8th op , same day I got there when I woke up I still had every thing they had only taken a 6cm  out of my groin  and sent it for histology
they then sent me while still grogy to gasto had acamera up the anus and down into stomach
and biob’s taken for histology.” Cut the story short” the histology report for op was  rare crohn’s  caused by chronic p .pa.  histololgy for up the anus was severe inflammation caused by p.  and down into my gut , the histology was severe inflammation of intestines gallstone&bladder& infection 3 bactria’s etc caused  by my p.pa.
conclusion inflammation caused by my p. pa.  And all of the proffessor’s  said  every time they op  it will cause exaltation eg get worse and will only op if realy have to,  and
that’s what was going on at my local hosp every time they op it grew back.!
seeing that I was on  mtx they  will leave to my reumy& gp to keep an eye on me
so here I am at the start again its grown back with vengance I wont  go though the yucky  but I got another !in my testical so if they op again “what will I get next” , have another large scotch I think, I have found a web site in America, that claims he can cure by metastatic  bio somethink ? and cleaning the blood by radition  but cant find any paper,s that back him up, the proff at st marks  cant find any info on him either
ho dear , il’have another scotch , well do i go in or dont i
even crossed paths today with my old consultant the one who was at loss he bowed his head and hurryid
along  he regonised me all right well i better stop

Hi david

Now am I right here...you have got a bowel condition, Chrohns (which I know of) and this is caused by chronic P and PA? You have been told that they are not only related, but the Chrohns has been caused by the P/PA?

I had no idea that this could happen.

:-/

And that is a whole lot of scotch! Perhaps I should join you then?  ;D

Anyone else have gut problems attributed to P/PA?

SJ

PS Can't help with the spelling...sorry  ;)

Hi David - I suffer terribly with shyness but this is such a friendly website and everyone is great - even when I drivel on and on and on and on and on.

Hi David- newbie too :) I empathise with you, although I don't suffer as 'badly'. I've had some very down times over the years with my p- mainly due to other people's attitudes but predominantly because I have let my condition get to me.
I did go into hospital a few years ago for UVA light treatment but had an adverse affect to light which has grown worse over the years, especially in the summertime when I can be in mild sun for about 10 minutes and my whole body breaks out in hundreds of blisters which susequently turn into new patches a few days later. I had a year or so when I was relatively clear but it has come back with a vengence; arms, legs, stomach, scalp, starting again on my face now too which is the worst as I can hide everything else!!! Have been seeing a dermo who referred me back to hospital for immediate treatment, only to turn up and find I had been 'lost' in the system, and could I please go back to my gp and start all over again. Very encouraging. Very disheartening. I now have extensive patches which I can't leave alone they are indescribably sore and itchy- really hot and bright red. I do try not to get down about it but have really bad days, (as I'm sure we all do).
Maybe I can pick up some advice along the way whilst I'm on here- you never know- there may be something for me (although I don'tthink it wil  include modelling beachwear!!!!!!!!)

take care.
Keep smiling  ;)
