The Wood Door
« on: August 18, 2004, 07:28:38 AM »
Hello my name is Wood.  I am a guitarist for a rock band, that's my living.  I developed P in "88" is when the first time I started to notice it.  My drummer called it bar elbow, I thought the same for a long time.  Untill it started to come up on my knees.  I was like Oh No!  Didn't know what was up.  Went to a doc, he told me what it was.  I was like, what is that?  He gave me some stuff to use.  Hated it and put it down.  Here it is 14 years later.  I have P on elbows, knees, legs, head, butt, and hips.  I still play rock for a living.  It is hard sometimes.  I do things to keep it at bay so the mamagement does not notice, or people.  I play under alot of lighting, maybe that helps.  I use a freaking rock to scrap the stuff off, and lots of Tar and lotion stuff.  I don't live a stressful life, so my P keeps low.  But I do get flare ups offten.  It hurts more now than before and it is hard to hide because, it is al over me, but now I don't care.  I just deal with it.  People like the guitar slinging better, so that's Ok with me, I just don't go to partys or anything.  Â I live in Minneapolis Minnesota USA.  It gets very cold here in the winter and the P goes wild.  Summer comes and I get better.  That's my story and I am sticking to it.

official welcome Wood!  Like the bar elbow - when mine first started on the elbows I thought it was down to leaning my elbows on the desk at work all day!  Then I thought it was "scabies" - if only it were that simple!

Hi Wood

Do you really use a rock??  God... that must make it sore  :(

Try exfoliating it with something softer... get an exfoliating body wash to keep it flat ;D

Great to have you on the forum.

Beverley ;D

Hi, wood and welcome again.
I have a dalmatian. They say that the dalmatian is changing his hair twice a year:
6 months in the spring and 6 in the autumn. So I have to brush his hair rather often, using a rubber brush - for dogs with short hair; you can find in any petshop.
THAT`S real cool for scratching your P areas without causing other wounds. I use it myself for scratching my feet. No b-------t ! I begun to completely understand Baloo when scratching with a tree....

Adrian_hoble, na man, you are not annoying.  I love to hear from others like me with the same malfuntions.  Sorry.  I get busy and can't log on just when I want.  I own a studio also which I am recording in alot.  Don't make all my bucks playing live.  I guess I have an active life.  Trying to get somewhere ya know, but alot of times it seem like I am getting nowhere.  I am on the phone so much sometimes, my ear turns red.  I am on the recorders so much sometimes, my ears ring for days and I have to break, and then I get computer time with NO RADIO or MUSIC!  Everybody wants me to listen to music and I want to run away.  Don't do party's to much or watch TV, waist of my time.  The last time I watched alot of TV is when our country was in alot of trouble 911.
I found this forum by cruzing on the net to find out more about how I can take care of myself "P".  I was attracted for some reason to this forum.  Don't IM or Yahoo.  My phone is unlisted.  So there are time when I just chill to get control of who I am.  I am also Micosoft certified, and I am always helping someone, mostly musicians here in the Minneapolis metro.  I got a Lab (dog) that I take of too.  I am a publisher with BMI, and for the most part it seem like I am broke.  I play in a band on the weekends to keep the chops up, not counting the hours of pratice.  But I have a big upkeep to provide what I do.  So no man, I am just busy alot.  I only get like 5 hours of sleep every night, IF that sometimes because of late nights, so then I do a nap.  But the reason why I ceated the WOOD DOOR is so I can go to one place and view things and to say hi.  Yeah, like that is going to work, HEHEHE, I find I cruz all arond on this fourm, good support.  I hurt at times like others and what I got is very real, AND IT SUCKS!  I wear shorts alot and cut of shirts.  I am one that could give a flying f**** what people think about me and my P.  I am 50 years old and work out alot.  All the guys in the band I am employed in is in there late 20's.  I guess they don't care as long as I keep sheading guitar.  After all I am not the lead singer, just a player.   After re reading my reply, (always do because I am dislixsic and sometimes I type words backwards) I think WOW, busy man!  Oh yeah, I am also a member of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login which is a song writers group that I do solo stuff with.  So if I don't reply right away, I am not blowing off in the wind.  This form has very real people and I enjoy that.  Just don't get me on a soap box about Bush.
