Hi Lexi,  welcome to PHO :)

It's good your daughter is starting to show some improvement.   I usually takes 3 weeks before I ever start to see any difference in P wiht UVB.  This is quite normal.  It's a great help if she doesn't skip any sessions, as the may well not up the joules if a visit has been missed.   As the nurse said she could get up to 8 minutes by the time she has built up the time increments each visit.  That is of course if her skin can tolerate that amount of exposure.  Only time will tell you that.  I don't get to 8 minutes until week 10.

Week 3-4 brings the unbearable itch from the UVB.   It really can be insanely itchy.  Best way to cope is keep the skin cool with cold moisturisers or even a cool shower head on the itchy parts.  I've known me have to get up during the night and run a clod shower on my legs.

By week 5-6 she should start to see a marked improvement.  The lenght of time it take to clear is different for everyone.  I get a 16 week course but normally only need 12 weeks.

The life time of joules allowance is exactly that.  She can have 1000joules in her life.  In a 12 week course of UVB I use approximately 35 joules.  This means if my life allowance was 1000 I could have about 28 courses of UVB in a life time.

I hope she see's improvement soon and the course is a success.
