Just to update you. Still waiting for appointment to see the Dermatologist, apparentley I am being graded at the hospital.  My hands are red red raw and so itchy.

Cant imagine what others who have this more severe go through.  Will chase Hospital again next week.

Best wishes for now to all

Hello and welcome along to the forum. I think most of us could cope with p better is it wasn't so red when it's flaring ::) You needs to keep your skin moisturised, and wearing gloves will really help keep the cream where you want it to be. Fingers crossed your appointment comes through soon.

Hi and welcome from me to.

I am a newbie in the last few days but i have p on my palms, fingers and thumbs and just stops at my wrists.  I to where cotton gloves whenever i can and i find that using the emolient cream with the gloves on througout the night really does help.  It must be hard for you at work though and i am guessing you wouldnt wear your cotton gloves there?

Hi

Just to keep you updated. I got my consultant apt, and went today..  Diagnosis is Psoriasis, but not sure which type, think Palmoplantar pusstulosis. After waiting over 13 weeks for my appointment wanted to be sure I wasnt fobbed off.

To sum it up I have been given a plan of action. Alphosyl for 1 month , then change to exorex ( i think thats what they said), if that doesnt work fo a month. I then have my next apt where if no improvement they will discuss Acitretin or Methotrexate tablets.

I feel like I am getting somewhere now and hopefully one of those will help.

My hands havent improved and it is defo spreading up my fingers, not sure though if this is cos I am compensating for my bad hands by using fingers more ?

Pleased they listenend to me, I dont like to dwell on the fact that I cant open a bottle of milk, or turn off the shower, simple things that could really get you down if you let this take over your life.

Will let you know how I get on, good luck to everyone else who is sufferring.

Wanted to update you all after 3 months.

Neither of the creams worked, they both had little effect. Then 10 days in Majorca
I had a significant improval!  Fortunatley my next appointment was with the Dermatologist soon after. He has refered me for phototherapy which i start next week - twice a week for 8-10 weeks.

Now only using Alveeno moisturising lotion which I find really good and no other prescribed creams.

keeping fingers crossed that this can get under control and I can get on with my life.. Certainly feel soo much better, this was really getting me down and affecting me emotionallyand physically (couldnt open a bottle of wine!)

Good luck to all
