"C" Products
« on: November 30, 2004, 02:59:12 AM »
Hi there...has anyone tried "C" products made by Universal Labs in Jordan?   They have just appeared in a local shop here. It says the products are made with Mineral Salts from the Dead Sea. They are really expensive so I want to know if anyone has had success with them before I buy the cream. I bought the Olive Oil/Mineral Salt Soap but I haven't tried it yet.  If anyone has heard of it I would appreciate any comments!

Thanks!

Hi Miss Canada

Most of these over-expensive Psoriasis products, if not all, touting the inclusion of Dead Sea minerals, are a con job in my opinion - Designed to prey on the desperation & vulnerabilty of P sufferers willingness to try anything.

The benefit of the Dead Sea to P has more to do with the atmosphere filtering out a lot of the burning sun rays thereby allowing P sufferers to stay in the sun longer enjoying the therapeutic rays of the sun which helps most P sufferers skin.

The companies concerned have more interest in making themselves a pile of money more than supplying an effective treatment for P.

Excuse my scepticism - But these products are a dime a dozen & very rarely do they afford much, if any, therapeutic benefit to P sufferers.

I reckon save your money & invest it in cheaper moisurisers & oils - Afterall, that is mostly what is in most of these products but they charge a fortune merely to fatten their bank accounts.

And....

to the forum Miss Canada!  ;D

Thanks for replying - that's what I thought - especially when I saw the price! It will be interesting to see how long the products stay on the shelves in that shop - I will keep an eye on it to see how many people get hooked.

I thought you were going to say I need to move out of the cold to a warmer place! I am hoping my Dr. will eventually prescribe some warmth and sunshine - then I will have an excuse for a holiday!

Mind you, I am having a good week P wise...I am hoping the new vitamins my natropath suggested are kicking in....I can but hope.....

Thanks for the welcome fish!!

I bought some C products back from Jordan this summer....needless to say they cost next to nothing out there! I mean a soap like the one you bought cost me the equivilent of a pound  :(

I quite like dead sea stuff...and use LaCure products here as we have a 20% discount at PHO. I like the body moisturiser and the shower gel  :)

I do believe dead sea salt, if used properly, can reduce scaling, redness and itching...and, of course, it is entirely natural. But it can work out to be expensive  :-/
