Sounds good ...but I have heard good news like this before but it never seems to get to the point where we can actually have it >:(

Its the first biologic wi would even consider having, the other were way to wide spectrum, interuprting toomany inflamation pathways and always with quite a low response rate. It seems this is a much cleaner drug. One of the things thatupsets me a little is thatwhen the skin is in remission there are loads of alternative things people could do to strengthen the once attacked/weakened skin. From sea weed baths (which are helping me clear as we spreak) to skin strenthenging creams.  It woul dbe  great to see a combined health approach.

Do you reckon a GP would ever be able to prescribe this or would it be derm only?

Maybe in the Year 2030 a GP may be prescribing it...

That's what I was thinking.  Hopefully if it doesn;t have nasty side effects it will be generally prescribed.  Seems a shame that an effective treatment has to be a last resort when topical treatments and UVB can be so inconvienient.

Fingers crossed it all pans out.  If nothing else it is reassuring to know that research is being done and we've not been forgotten, sometimes I feel like dermatology research is concentrated solely on skin cancer etc.

I have mild to moderate P and generally I self treat although I do make a few trips to my GP each year to pick up one or two creams which I find quite good when things flare up. As someone who has never had UVB, MTX, biologics etc I wonder just how difficult if would be to try a new treatment like this. I've always felt that I would have to work my way through a list of other treatments first before a GP and derm would give me the ok. I find this a little bit frustrating as in reality I have been less of a burdon on the NHS over the years than I could have been. Yet they might insist I try other treatments first that I have reservations about. I really hope this does turn out to be a wonder treatment and that its revolutionises P treatment for ever however it would also be nice for people to gain access to it without jumping through numerous hoops.

It'll come down to the cost of the thing, unfortunately. It's good that the trials have gone well, but any side effects won't really make themselves known until the wider population starts to use it. Like other have said, I've heard this sort of thing before ... lets see if it really is the wonder drug it seems.

Well I would quite happily be a guniei pig for this sort of thing , failing that I would pay a large amount of cash to get a drug that works or if i could not buy it I would consider stealing it  ;D

with the help of a few peeps we could raid a chemist  ;)
