I'm now 23 and got my first symptoms of psoriasis when I was 16 although it was only 6 months ago that I was diagnosed with it. Before then I had been wrongly given treatment by a different doctor for seborrheic dermatitis although some of the treatments seem to crossover anyway. I have no idea how serious my condition ranks when compared with others but it's worsening in some areas which I think is partly induced by the food I eat and a bit of weight gain recently. My main affected areas are: Ankles (Bad), Right Arm (Bad), Shoulders (Not so bad anymore), Scalp (Not so bad anymore but really itchy after a few hours still), Genitals (Clear in summer, quite bad in winter).
I'm currently using the following products:
Dovobet for most areas which improved my shoulders a lot but now just seems to contain my psoriasis in all areas.
Etrivex cream which I've been using on my genitals (I think this is ok to use there?)
I also have a couple of shampoos, Polytar and another one which was only meant to be used for 4 weeks so I haven't used it a lot. Previously I have used Nizoral to no effect.
I have another thing for my scalp too which I put on after a shower.
I'll update these properly when I can check them without waking my girlfriend.
I've seen a lot of products mentioned on here that I've never heard of and I just wanted to ask what the next step is and what sort of products I'd be prescribed if the doctor thinks I need something slightly stronger than these products?
I'd also like to know if indeed I am ok to use Etrivex on my genitals?
Oh and are there any sorts of foods I should or shouldn't be eating?
