Well, no one thought I would actually have no side effects did they.!?! ;D
I woke up this morning after taking it last night and I feel as sick as a dog, my tummy is a little dodgy and I have a banging headache. However, so far, I would rather feel like this than what I did on the cyclosporin. If this is all I get then this I can live with. Keep crossing fingers that this is the worse it gets.
Hang on in there, your poor body is in shock from getting stuffed with all these different poisons! I think my worst week was when I went up to 15 mg and it did improve the next week when my body started accepting it. I do feel a bit nauseous most weeks and even though you really don't want it I find it calms down once I've forced myself to eat something, also I always take it with a glass of milk and think I've read on here that bananas helped some people. I was also really tired at first but that only lasted 2 or 3 weeks, I'm back to insomnia now  ::)

How long will this nausea last, it is getting worse not better? I am finding the thought of food is turning my stomach, however I am eating. I feel awful and my head is killing me... :(

Oh poor love, I imagine you're taking it all in one go so not sure, I take Thursday night, Friday morning, Friday night and then the folic acid Saturday morning and by Saturday lunchtime I'm right as rain again. Persevere with it a bit, if it doesn't improve and you can't bear it I think you can try and persuade the Dr. to give you something to sort the nausea out, I was told if I really couldn't cope I could take the same tabs they prescribed for my 8 month long morning-sickness, trouble is they gave me migraines  :'(. What a mess we all are, can't live with the drugs, can't live without 'em  ::)

I have been taken off MTX. After going in to have my bloods done the other day and speaking to the nurse about the side effects, she told me to call back yesterday tea time after she had spoke to the consultant. The message came back to stop it immediatly. I am due to see consultant again in about a week and half. I am not sure if it was bloods or the side effects which has resulted in me being told to stop it. As with the cyclosporin, it seems to have started to work very quickly and it seems such a shame that it is healing so well to be told to stop it (however on the bright side, I will be able to have a drink again, and I will be able to eat food without retching). I do not seem to be having much luck with finding something that I can take...I feel that I have gone through most treatments that people seem to take years to get to in a matter of months. The next stage is the biologics...I wonder what delights they will bring ;D

Oh poor love, you really are having fun with it all, aren't you? Hope the wretched poisons had a chance to make your skin a bit more comfortable at least. I think I'll be coming off the MTX next week too, after starting off really well it just stopped doing anything except make me feel sea-sick after the first 6 weeks, I took pics to compare after my last bloods & check-up and 5 weeks later it's getting worse again  >:(, don't think I could stomach a higher dose than what I'm on now and my derm wanted me to stop last month anyway, s*d's law that I begged for an extra month to clear a bit more and then it started coming back, such a perverse condition this.
Enjoy your drink and let us know what joy drug you're offered next.

sorry to hear you've had a rough time on the mtx, i've been on it for a 2 months now, started off feeling really rough with them now touch wood seem to be ok, increased my dose to 15mg last month and felt slightly worse but it settled down again really quickly. seems so be clearing my skin slowly, my arms seem to be getting the best result, managed to clear them enough to get my tattoo last week which i've been waiting for for 5 years!
my face seems to be the worse, no improvement really at all.
have a derm apointment today so will see what they say!

hope you manage to find something to help hun! take care

The cyclo did it wonders, it flattened the plagues and took away the scaling. A similar result was achieved I think with MTX. However I am not sure if it is the coal tar or the MTX, or even a mix of both. Many patches are reduced to scarring and the others are controlable. I did wake up a couple of days ago with the top parts of all my fingers beginning to turn ,however they where fine this morning after I covered my hands in bandages last night.
The consultant said previously if it didn't work then I would move onto the biologic. i see him on Tuesday, so I shall find out then.
The sickness is beginning to clear now, and I have just had my first lunch (albeit at 3 o clock) since I started it. The weight has fallen off me and I really do not have much to loose, and I think the consultant was concerned about that with my past medical eating issues.
Hopefully the next stage of treatment will suit me better.
Sorry you are feeling so rough still. How long have you been off the cyclo now? I am glad it has at least given you some relief.
Hugs
