allergy?
« on: February 11, 2006, 11:22:33 PM »
I have spent the last couple of hours reading some of the posts on all the forums.

A couple of members have mentioned that the cause of psoriasis can be an allergy to certain foods.  Is this true????

This has really confused me because I always thought it was genetic or caused by stress.

Feedback would be great thanks. ;)

Hi Rachel,
Everyones p is individual to them unfortunately...for some stress is a trigger whilst for others it may be food or other such triggers...some find the sun helps but again for others it makes matters worse, unfortunately there is no easy way to find out what your trigger is except by trial and error. Sorry if there were an easy answer we would have sussed it by now :)

hi, Rachel
yep we all diff peps some  with diff types of p  or a mixture
some peps claim that a certain food triggered/started  there  p and just by eliminating this food
there p gets better
some peps are allergic to straw/nuts etc, but dont get p  some  claim shock ie bee sting etc etc caused there p
but as yet this as not been done/ under lab controlled conditions by any one let alone on a rat/mouse experiment or  repeated  in a row,  ie like a switch    on and off
it could be a combination ie food /worry/stess/ or even a strep/virus/bed bug etc etc etc
1 of the latest idea's is in  epigenetics they reckon they getting closer to  answers/cure but experts  have been saying that for yrs,

well thats my little bit of feedback

hi there yep same goes here everyones different with how they react to p or what causes it.
i belive its genetic n definatly inherited from my family, ive tinkered with the rest of things and have found myself no difference, tho i do know for others it works.
my advice, as i give to myself is to try, it may work n we all have nothing to lose.
 :) everything to gain

Some peeps find that changing their diet improves their p, some don't. It's always better to eat healthier if you can.
