hi bigrichinit,

I usually itch a lot more when I go to bed (sometimes wake up from myself scartching :P)

you will find lots of helpful advice on the forum. Keep browsing through the threads a bit ... and if you got any question - never hesitate to ask ;D

Being diagnosed with p is a bit of a shock - but let me assure you ... you can live with it - not easy all the time, but not the end of the world either 8) (and here on the forum is a real nice bunch  - all people with p. ;D ..... welcome to the elaborate club ::))

Hi n Welcome bigrichinit
Yup it can itch more at night, There are a number of treatments but it is not unusual for steroid cream to be the first med offered by GP's, A lot of member also use moisturisers, like doublebase, I use an essential oil.

Hi Bigrichinit!!! Welcome, you'll find lots of help here, just realize that what doesn't work for some works very well for others! :) That's helpful, eh? I find that 1. I do itch a lot more in the evening/night. 2. I find that using lots of rich moisturizers help with that , it's quite soothing. And I find if I drink a lot of water I try to have at least 3 L a day then my skin isn't as dry and that helps a whole bunch. I've also taken flax seed oil caps and or seeds (in my cereal) and that helps too. wish you lots of good luck, shar

Hiya,

If the itch is driving you up the wall u can take tablets like piriton, an anti histamine (sp?) but moisturiser is what really helps, even cheap aqueous cream is useful (£2.50 a pot) - ooh and if u can stand it put your moisturiser in the fridge, v cooling and soothing.

Try not to scratch. I usually use a wet handkerchief soak in Listerine (anticeptic) to rub my p.

If it's unbearable, I'll take a Piriton.

I clear 80% of my p with Daivonex and UVB (twice a week)

im with han - get the anti histamines in ya.

itch is actually a pain, pain can be soothed with cool things - try luke warm baths or cool showers.
