Dovonex
« on: February 12, 2006, 12:21:05 AM »
Hi everyone.

I'm writing this post to tell everyone how BRILLIANT i found Dovonex ointment.  It takes a few weeks to work fully but you can tell the difference in a week with virtually no scaling to pick at.

I know not everyone is suited to this but i am recommending people try it who haven't already.

I found it to be the best by far AND it's not a steroid.

I have been moaning on my other posts that my psoriasis is at it's worst ever and it is, but that's not because of Dovonex.  I haven't been using my Dovonex because i am in the middle of a trial run of Kalawalla and i don't want to use any other meds, just to see if it does work.

dovonex never touched mine, but like RachelD dovobet is the best 1 when i'm not on the mxt it keeps mine down to a liveable level.(if there is a livable level?). barring having to wait on 1hr till it soaks in otherwise it can leave greese marks on my clothes!

Good to hear of a cream that works!  Like most here it hardly touched mine, but glad to see it does work for some  :)

I used dovonex cream at first, then I got the ointment (which I found a lot better) and alternated (and yes it doesn't leave the grease marks on ur clothing if you're not careful!).

Just like some of you have said, Dovonex worked great then you almost became immune to it. I did as well, then my Dr. introduced me to DovonBET. This works wonders! I was told to only use it in rotation Ie: dovonex on weekdays, and dovoBET on weekends (because it says to limit your useage of dovobet because of the steroid)

I am not sure if you've heard about an old product "Skin Cap" But I used that and it worked SOO good I went from being 80% covered to about 10% then I was literally clear!!, then it got banned due to an un-claimed corticosteroid in it, and major side effects - weight gain, mania, psycosis, diabetes etc. etc., but dovobet has the same thing, that's why you have to use it in moderation!

A new product has just been advertised here (I'm in ON,Canada) called "skin zinc". I have ordered the psoriasis kit (scalp lotion, shampoo, body wash, spray, moisturizer and a pill). I am hoping it'll have the same effect of Skin Cap minus the side effects!  I shall keep you's informed. If you want to look it up... this is the website:  http://www.skinzincrelief.com   8-)

Works well for me too. I don't use it all the time but just for a few days now and again. It descales and stops the flaking for a couple of weeks and really smooths my skin. Ointment best, the cream doesn't seem to do much

I'm using the cream at the moment, only been on it a week, scaling gone but still red patches. Am only going to use it for 6 weeks because of side affects.

I haven't yet used Dovonex, but I'm thinking of trying it on my scalp. I'm currently using Dovobet. It seems to work for a while, but when I stop using it, the plaques flare up again on my scalp. Does anyone know what dangers there are from using Dovobet on the scalp? Does anyone have any information about effective treatments for nail psoriasis?
