Yup. It's not a permanent cure. I've kept it away for a year. Now it's starting again.

I have experienced p on my face from time to time and I often find sunlight clears it ip and prevents it from coming back.  Although the best/most medically controlled exposure to UV light would be to undergo UVB phototherapy, if you are getting impatient and increasingly frustrated and don't want to have to wait to get referred, I would (although contoversial) suggest a couple of sunbed sessions and you may notice a distinct difference quite quickly.  At least if it's present in other regions of your body you can cover up and tolerate it.  However, if it's on your face, it's extremely delfating to you confidence and self-esteem unless you wear a balaclava in public!

Hi there

I started getting flare ups on my face about two year ago and have finally found something that works! It is a cream by Barefoot botanicals, i get it from local health store, it is the SOS rescue face and body cream. I apply it in the morning and at night and it works wonders for me. It has vrious natural oils in it, not sure which in particular works but it does the trick. Worth a go as it is a lovely moisturiser if nothing else, all natural organic, no parabens etc.

Also, you mentioned your sugar levels, I am not sure if your reading is high, but I went to a alternative chap for diet advice and high processed sugars were one of the things I had to cut out and that also helped, not sure if that is also connected you your flare up? I seem to tolerate dairy well, but as soon as I eat too much sugar/alchohol I flare up

Anyway, good luck, it is a right b*gger isn't it?!!!!

You have to be very careful choosing a facial moisturiser when P is a problem on this area. I tried loads before finding one which didn't aggravate the condition. The one I use is nivea for men extra soothing which is fragrance and alcohol free and has worked very well for me. In addition, I apply a thin layer of Elidel (pimecrolimus) a couple of times a week around my nose. Its non-greasy and quickly absorbed but prescription only. Good luck  :)

When your p is flaring, it seems like nothing helps at all. Keep moisturising like there is no tomorrow, it will eventually start to help. Bets of luck.
