Hi Fiona

Welcome to the Fumaderm club, the cramps can be a bit can be rough but there's a full thread and how people cope and things that help you do it.

I hope it helps you (and the link works - i can be a bit rubbish at this!)

Hi Fiona,

I think that a lot of people (well, actually there are not a lot of us) recommend drinking peppermint tea.

I have been on Fumaderm for over a year and have found that eating bananas helps with some of the stomach related side-effects. Figs are also helpful if things go in the other direction!

I have never had any "flushing" so can't comment on that aspect.

Let us know how you are getting on.

Regards,

Daryl

I flush regularly and I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about it.

I suffer from the full range of side effects but its still the smaller price to pay in relation to psoriasis.  Full body flushes are horrible but you learn to cope!  Good luck!

Can you explain what a flush is please?

I,m on 6 blues a day and have been for a while now.

To start with I got what might be flushes. Basically it was intense itching, irratation and a prickly heat like reaction.

I still tend to get these if I don't space the tabs out properly over the day.
Not many posts to my name. But each reply is worth 20yrs of P experience.

To me a flush is going bright red from the tips of my toes to the top of my head, burning hot, skin feels tight and painful to the touch!

The heat is an "internal" heat ie no amount of fanning yourself or going to stand in a cool place helps it to die down, you just have to wait till it passes.  Sometimes this can take up to 40 mins!

From the descriptions provided by Luvvi and Frost, I have just realised that I probably get "flushing" as well, but only in a very mild form.

The back of my neck, and upper back itch like mad every morning (even though - from touch - there is little, or no, P there), and it is hot. But I can't see it, so I have no idea what it looks like!
