Yup unfortunately Fumaderm only works for about 50% of the people who try it!  Its no wonder drug  :-\  Although for me its been a life saver and long may it continue!

When you guys first started on Fumaderm, did your skin get worse while you were still on low dosages? I just ask as everyday mine is getting worse. Also how many weeks does it take to build up to taking say 4 blue tablets. I ask as i am only on my 4th week and on 3 30mg white tablets,

mine didnt get any worse while i was building up to 6 blues a day but took until week 12 before a saw any real change. after about 6 months i was 99% clear then after about 18 months it started coming back but only slightly until last week i got a steroid injection in my ass for my PA and hey presto even the finalstubborn patch on my lower shin above my ankle thats been there for ever disappeared!! :D

My skin couldn't have got much worse at that point to be honest.  When it kicked in it kicked in fast and I would easily recommend staying on it for 6 months before you get any real improvement.  Its all about patience and perserverence with this drug!  I only managed to take 6 tablets about twice the side effects where far to hard for me to cope with.  I maintain my clearance on 4 tablets per day (sometimes 2 if a social occasion is on the cards as the stomach cramps make life a little difficult on occasion)

I don't think I would stop taking them unless my Derm told me to due to bloods etc.  I would go down to the lowest dosage and stay in maintenance mode!  Considering how long it takes to kick in I definitely wouldn't want to have to start from scratch and be in the middle of a terrible rebound flare and having to play the waiting game!

Been on Fumaderm for a year i  down to 3 a day and I have one spot on my leg that is starting to get bigger but would not dream of comin off them.  From Ireland and currently paying €120.00 a month for the meds so only hoping that this will not go up in the BUDGET FROM HELL that we are expecting!!!!

I'm at the western in Glasgow right now waiting on my next 3months of Fumaderm but my derm(the lovely Dr Blair) told me that they are not prescribing it to new patients due to cuts. She said she hasn't heard of it getting stopped for patients who ain't on it already(phew)!
Neolo5 I think you might have a problem getting it anywhere these days let alone cheap online.

You know this has been my biggest fear and I spoke to them at a meeting recently to try and find out what was going to happen long term!  Its a massive overspend in the Western and has been for ages!  The fact that is is unlicensed adds to the worry!

I,m on 6 tabs a day and my P is better but not cleared.

The redness has turned to pink and the scaling is slowing on some patches.

But my legs are still plastered with red spots. I dont know how long to give it to see its best effect.

I have another 4 weeks on 6 tabs until I see my derm.

I,m getting hot flushes, terrble itching and heat build ups.

But i,m not seeing any miracle clearance. Although it has stopped the P coming back on my face after I cleared it when I went away in September.

I still want to be on Ciclo

If you are getting flushes etc stick with it.  I am sure its the flushing etc that aids clearance and think long term......Fumaderm has less effect on your internal organs than Ciclo...if you can tolerate it and it starts to work then its much better for you!

I really want this to work but I can’t see any major improvement.

But I would say its stopping new P from appearing. The only thing its not doing is clearing it.

I’m hoping some magic kick in will take place, but 10 weeks in and I’m  :-\

Maybe I’ve found something that will hold it away but not clear me.

I,m going to try but it's hard.

I,m trying not to look at it because it's like watching paint dry. You want something to happen and somedays it look good and others it makes you  >:(.

I will see how it is in another four weeks. I,ve only been on 6 tabs for a week so will see how it goes.

I've been on 6 blues a day for about 6 weeks now I think.  Yes it has helped with the flare that I had and my arms look a lot better (but not clear), I still have p from head to toe and I think it has done all it is going to do, in fact I have a terrible feeling that I have some new spots coming back.  The Guttate p is still everywhere, just less red and flakey.  It has been like this for weeks with no change.

I should have kept a diary because I,ve lost track of my dates.

I took initial for 4wks.

Then it has taken me about 6 wks to get to the maximum.

So I must be on week 11ish.
