Hi, Pieman - good that Enbrel is still an option, even though that has been put back. Will you continue with ldn until clear for enbrel? So hope something gets to really work for you soon.
Not read anywhere that ldn can cause liver damage, although read that at "full" dosage, naltrexone shouldn't be taken by people who already have liver damage. What the hell, you have to look at your own situation. Paul is 57 now - you take a wider view as you get older - he had a younger brother die at 40 with bowel cancer and an older brother who has just had a triple heart by-pass operation at 60. None of us knows what is around the corner.
Paul was really studying his hands this morning - think he is surprised at how clear they are - just some slight redness on his hands and elbows now - nothing that would cause anyone to be particularly curious about (ok - nothing I'd expect anyone to stare at). There is still a feeling of "raised" skin to the touch, but I'm not expecting too many strangers to touch him (he should be so lucky!). Not much particular improvement elsewhere though (lower legs have large patches and there are a few odd patches on his body). Have new prescription for 3ml to start in the next few days and an appointment for April. We'll keep it going and we're hoping the spring will give a further push and he might be pretty clear for the summer. I think the real "teller" for me would be if his nails started to clear - we'll see.
As I say, so hope either ldn (possibly) kicks in for you, Pieman, or you get a definite timescale for the enbrel. Meantime, give the Guinness and the vodka chasers a fair try out (in moderation of course...........).
