pie yes the doctor is member of royal college of general practitioners? what is your policy that covers pre existing conditions?

hi ash, i'm a member of a coprporate scheme with healthshield, part of  the incentive to join is that
pre-existing conditions are waived.
however the doc in glasgow does not meet the criteria:(taken from healthshield website):

"The specialist does not have to hold a consultant position in a hospital, but must be a member, fellow or licentiate (licence-holder) of one of the Royal Colleges (or their international equivalent)." in their opinion.

gary: don't forget your ldn next time m8 ! :o ;)

I am so sad seeing your conditions and it makes my pathetic palm condition of no consequence---- surely you must have priority treatment in your part of the world-- what treatment are you receiving?I had no idea it could be so bad and your valiant and brave acceptance is a credit to you. I hope it improves as mine has since joining this group and taliking and understending the state of psoriasis. I am going to contribute to the associaton as every little helps.

Hi - I didn't manage to recoup my costs from Bupa for my LDN consultation either, but it really is worth every penny even if you have to pay for it yourself :)

i agree, well cheap (if it works out ::))..specially compared to cost of enbrel (my next step)
if the ldn doesn't work out for me.

the cost per scrip is £15 per month x 12 = £180 supply compared to circa £9000 pa for enbrel.
nice little saving for the nhs there then 8)

if the ldn does work, and i produce evidence of that to my gp/derm, it would need to be
prescribed off licence, the pics combined with no side adverse effects(so far) may make the
decision easier for them to prescribe on the nhs...how can they not? ;)

anyway..that's further down the line. ;)

deedee, how did paul get on?
pie ;)
