p.s. - reckon give it at least 3 months before you reach any conclusions...although everyone's different so who knows!

Hi Pieman

Really hope LDN helps you - have to have some patience with it, but it is worth it!  After 7 months on it, I reckon I've had about a 70% clearance and now just have some light pink bits!  Good luck :)

hi Jeni

fantastic news for you, really pleased 8) 8)
you're under the docs at the essential health clinic at glasgow?
hope to replicate this quote from them:

"We managed to recruit one doctor who, after a great deal of deliberation and due diligence agreed to prescribe LDN. He concentrated on patients with psoriasis, and although several patients have given up the treatment mainly due to financial constraints, he has been amazed at the effect of LDN in this condition. He asked me how many patients who were still attending did I think had a skin clearance? This is an incredibly difficult thing to achieve in psoriasis and as the skin is visible, any persisting lesions could suggest treatment failure even though the inflammation was greatly reduced. The gold standard in Psoriasis research is 75% clearance and many clinicians consider this to be far too high, with 50% a more achievable target. I suggested that perhaps 50% of those still attending the clinic may have had a total clearance, bearing in mind that those still attending are more likely to be having success. I was astonished that when he told me that all 100% were clear. Although this was only 7 or 8 patients, in the doctor’s words ‘everyone has had their lives transformed’. One patient who attended that evening had been clear of psoriasis for the first time in 51 years. You can imagine how good the patients felt and I could see how good the doctor felt! He is now branching into using LDN in Crohn’s disease, chronic fatigue and MS as his confidence has grown. "

please keep us updated on how further you go :) ;)

Hi - wish I'd taken lots more pics now to document my improvement!  Well done for doing this :)   On the protopic - I used this on my face a couple of years ago - definitely helped.  Face was the first place to clear on the LDN which was fab!

hey ash

Day 17 - 23 ldn 1mg/iml dosage daily:

no real update since last one.  Skin seems to be taking longer to scale up.
scalp/ear p again virtually zero, facial p also is very very calm.
I'll be having phone consultation with prescribing doc tommorrow(tues) with a view to
increase dosage...the ldn does seem to be helping :) even at 1mg...just need to crank it up i feel ;)

Hope an increase in the dose makes some more significant improvement pieman.  How about you, Ash?

Paul's appointment next week.  Feeling a bit sheepish about it - his skin is currently the best it has been since I've known him (like 36 years!).  He's been using a ped egg (sorry if that is just too gross, but that must be letting his current topical (coal tar/betnovate ointment), and lots of moisturising get though more efficiently) and occasionally a dermalight.  Still, keen to go ahead with the ldn - Paul has never been clear of p, and we know it can flare up at any time even from its current "good" state.  The thought of proper clearance, through something he can just take once a day and forget about, is just too enticing!

Jen - are you using anything other than the ldn?  As I say, we hoped Paul would just be able to go with that and not have to spend so much time putting on ointments etc.
