Hi Pieman - glad to see gradual improvement - hope it continues.  (Paul saw Dr Gilhooly).

Sorry to see Stu, that you're not seeing improvement too - I think getting the dosage right and the patience must be important to see if this works for an individual, but I can see that if it has made your pa worse, it must be difficult to decide what to do.  Hope things ease up soon, whatever you decide.

Doctor did say to Paul to look in terms of months rather than weeks for any real improvement, and Jen bears that out.  Would be great to hear from pitch182 (?).  (Originally posted about ldn back in Feb/March time and said by May was almost clear).

No change to report for Paul, but he hasn't had any side effects so far either (taking it in the morning to try to avoid any possible sleep problems).

HYA ALL

To be clear, it has an effect ofmaking menotice my joints more and an increased stiffness, not really huge worsening. But as pro musician it makes it hard for me to play guitar. I think its probably a unique thing (ie a slight allergy to the medicine) and would encourage others to try this as it appears to be safer than other options for serious Psoriasis.

I am taking some cod liver oil and dear velvvet to see if that counteracts the stiffness. I will go up to 3mg for a week or two and see what happens. It seem 3mg could be the magic dose.

hi ash :)
about 3 weeks in, noticed some skin was taking probably double the amount of time to scale
compared to life before ldn m8, some small patches aren't scaling now at 3mg.
however the bigger patches are scaling albeit slower...still, big improvement needed to penetrate these::)

Pieman I read this start to finish and am amazed at how upbeat you are considering the extent of P for you, it makes me very humble about how little I suffer in comparison.

I truly hope that the LDN works for you, you thoroughly deserve it and I will be following your progress.

Wishing you all the best

jo

hiya Jo

thanks for that.  seems strange, i remember joining PHO back in 2006 and looked
at darren (mr smileys) post with pics of his then p coverage and i, the same as you
thought god, in comparison mine was nothing to his back then. but how things change eh :D ;)
i'm on the P swing and roundabout ::)
we all suffer to some extent with the dreaded p...just hope i don't get full coverage
in the future,...don't fancy being the scabby swamp thing :) ;)
cheers

Hi Pie,

I was very near to your present condition in 2003 when I returned from an expensive and useless trip to the Dead Sea.

After the usual battering with topicals I used Acetretin and it was very good until my liver complained too much.

Last year I needed help and was prescribed Cyclosporin.  This also has worked wonders but now my kidneys will not take any more.

So.... I am waiting for the next flare-up and if I can work out how to get naltrexone I would love to give it a try.

If you can tolerate and eventually recover from the advanced state depicted in your photos, using only Naltrexone and ointments, there will be no need for further clinical tests.  Thousands of P sufferers world wide will be standing in line to get
the treatment.

Good luck and I hope you can stay optimistic for ever.
Dobbin :) :)
