mtx making p worse

i have been on mtx for ten months  starting on 15mg now on 20mg.

just  seen my derm who advised me to be patient , but its getting so much worse all over my hands and body.

used all the usual creams alongside the mtx but its just not working.

has anyone had similar experiences ?

Have you not had any relief from the mtx?
My mtx cleared up for about a year, but has come back with a vengeance now :(

i'm going through the same thing now, been on mtx for 11 months, was clearing up but it started to come back with a vengeance in November. I went to see my derm yesterday and he has increased my dose to 17.5mg, i was on 15mg. He said i must be patient with mtx, it will get a lot better soon. It is just very frustrating as it was all going so well and now.....back to square one!   I use dovobet along side my mtx, as well as the moisturisers and emollients, I hope your P starts getting better soon!

its a very frustrating drug , i really cant see it working for me.

just began using mtx yesterday, hope you just meant mtx doesnt work for you. Not mtx actually makes it worse. :o

Hi. Just joined the site tonight and when I read your post I wanted to tell you about mtx and me.
I have been taking mtx for around five months. At the start I was petrified of taking them as I have a very bad experience on one of the other tablets.
 To begin with I didn't notice much difference but after two months of being on mtx and no improvement they put the dosage up to 17.5 = 7 tabs per week...... I then noticed a fantastic improvement in my P with it almost clearing completely. Then just when I thought that I had finally after 32yrs found the treatment that suited me......I started having horrendous sore throats and endless other side affects within three weeks it has come back with a vengeance. Now my specialist is talking about giving me the injections? Anyone know anything about this treatment please

Im on my 5th week of MTX (15 mg weekly) and havent noticed much of a difference. My derm wants to give it another month. Haven't experienced any side-effects (yet, knock on wood) and all my bloodwork has came back normal.
