narrowband uvb
« on: December 07, 2011, 10:06:58 PM »
i am having narrowband light therapy for my p which is all over my body. I'm have had 5 sessions so far. just wonder if anyone else has had this treatment and how long it took before they saw a change. it is started to fade on the sides of  my tummy. but my arms and legs have gone itchy and scaly again (before my treatment i was applying emollient every hour and the itchy and scaliness had calm down dramatically) it think its due to not being able to put my creams on on the days i have treatment. hope it clears a bit soon on my arms and hands soon as I'm getting married in 10 days!

I finished my course of uvb this month.  26 in total.  Started at 22 seconds on the 1st session upto around 4 minutes.  I was seeing improvements after around 15 sessions  Suppose we are all different but just be patient.  I was itchy for the first 10 sessions but things improved.  Good luck!!

Hi,

I have had NBUVB twice. The first time (2008) was a success and I was clear for about 9 months. I think that it was after about 12 treatments that I really started to notice a difference.

The second experience (2010) was not good at all, so I won't dwell on that.

It sounds like most of you P is guttate, but if it is plaque, then you need to moisturise or the light won't get to the skin. Moisturising should not be a problem if you don't use something that is high in paraffin, or reflective. Perhaps a good move would be to do it overnight.

Regards,

Daryl
