After a bit of digging around, I came up with this ~ ABT-874 an anti-interluekin antibody ~ which I think is what they are referring to;

It has been previously used for Crohn's disease and is commonly known as Briakinumab or Ozespa and is an anti TNF similar to Stelera.


But hold on ..... Abbott have withdrawn it due to safety issues but research is continuing !

There are currently some 70 other biologics undergoing trials at the moment, that I do know  :)

hmm, I'm not really sure about that. it said that if you stop taking them then it will come back, but surely taking pills all your life will have a bad effect on you. people could become addicted to it, possably   :-/quote]


yes i am addicted to my 2 weekly humira injection just can't wait for it  ;D ;D

very curious my gp mentioned a new treatment but they seem very reluctant to start anyone on it just been told to keep up with the dovobet

I'm addicted to Insulin - I'm even injecting it now ....I wish I'd just died of Diabetes ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I would love to be addicted to not having P ;)

The article doesnt reveal what the pill or shot is. At the end of it, there is a link but when I clicked on the link, it takes me to a page which seems rather irrelevant. The fact the you have to rely on the pill for remission is not good news! It sounds like other drugs that give you temporary hope :(
